It is that time of year again when we give our first fruit sacrifice to the Lord through fasting. The next 21 days will be a time for decreeing, meditating, and praying as one for a local, global, and personal release.

For those of you who are new to fasting, fasting is one of the most practiced and effective of all the spiritual disciplines. It is a time to seek God’s direction for our lives, to renew our commitment to Him and to empty ourselves of sinful practices that limit our growth, development and effectiveness in life and ministry.

We ask that you daily confess the word of God over your life. Consider areas in your life that cause you concern, worry or stress. Lift these needs to the Lord during your fast. I invite you to use this pamphlet as a tool to guide you through this process. I am certain that this time of spiritual preparation will send tremendous ripples of faith and joy throughout your soul.

God bless you and I hope the very best for you as you set aside this time to give the first of yourself to the Almighty God. Remember, He rewards those who diligently seek Him. So keep your mind on Christ and your focus on righteousness.

In HIS Service,

Pastor Sam

Week 1 – The God of Our Character

Our character is evidence of our transformed heart and soul. God does not leave character development up to us alone, but through the work of the Holy Spirit, He shares in the process of transforming our hearts and minds into the image of Jesus Christ. He is, the God of our Character. (Ezekiel 36:26-27; Ephesians 4:22-24; I John 2:27)
Week 1 Prayer Focus Scriptures
1. Matthew 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
2. Proverbs 28:13 It will not go well for the man who hides his sins, but he who confesses them to the Lord, his sins and turns from them will be given loving-pity.
3. Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
4.  John 13:14-16 So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you. Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
5. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
6. Psalm 14:13 Set a watch, O LORD before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
7. Mark 12:30-31 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. This is the first Law. The second Law is this: “You must love your neighbor as yourself. No other Law is greater than these.”

Week 2 – The God of our World

The chaotic and despotic manner of our world lends itself to the work of the god of this world. All manners of evil, lukewarmness, and indifference toward sin and righteousness seem to rule the day. However, it is not a loss and this world has not been left in the hands of evil and evil men. Instead, working in it, good arises, overcomers emerge and the light has opportunity to shine its brightest because of the darkness. When the world and its systems prove a failure, the Kingdom of God will forever remain, amen. Fear not, for He is the God of our world. (Matthew 5:45; Romans 6:23; Luke 12:33)
Week 2 Prayer Focus Scriptures

 1. Colossians 1:17 He is before all things and in him all things hold together.
2.  Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
3.  Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and hope.
4.  Psalm 22:28 For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.
5.  John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
6.  Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it whenever he will.
7.  Psalms 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Week 3 – The God of our Desire

It is fitting to say that God will answer every prayer that is in agreement with what He wants to perform in our individual and collective lives. Those are the actions and things we should set our hearts and minds to deeply long for. May your prayers and desires extend beyond your ability to grasp them. For inside our hearts reveal Gods plan for us to impact the world, for He is the God of our Desires. (Ecclesiastes 3:11; Matthew 7:7; John 16:24; Matthew 7:8)
Week 3 Focus Questions

1. What are you passionate about? Prison reform, youth athletics, senior care, women’s causes, etc.?
